Will I have to move out while the work is being done?
Depending upon what work needs to be done on your home and how that work might be done, we may recommend relocation. This will be dependent upon: scope of work (how much of the house is affected), type of work (work that causes potentially dangerous situations for non-construction personnel, or may be hazardous without proper equipment), the time of year (will you be without heat for a prolonged period in the winter) and the flexibility of the owner (will your schedule permit relocating). If you do remain in the home while the work is being performed, be prepared for some new adventures in living! (It's not unheard of to store microwaves or refrigerators in bedrooms. Many bathrooms also become temporary kitchenettes). Ask us to help you set up areas in parts of the house you will live in. Expect at the very least to move out of the area of the house where the work is being done.
Can I visit the construction site to watch the progress of my home?
Seeing your home construction project take shape can be an exciting aspect of this type of endeavor. Keep in mind that, for safety reasons, you should not enter the construction site for an unscheduled visit. If at any phase of construction you would like to go inside the home, please contact our office so that one of the project managers can accompany you during the visit. This will be beneficial to you in case you have any questions as you walk around the site and will help alleviate any insurance issues.
Please understand that work may not be in progress on your home everyday. Even if several days pass without noticeable headway, we’ll still be on schedule. If a question does arise about any steps of construction, do not hesitate to contact our project manager.
Can I make changes to the design once my project is started?
We prefer to start with a finished, detailed set of plans by a design professional before we begin the work. That way, we will know exactly what you want to accomplish and how much you want to spend. With that in mind we do realize that things change and we will try to be as accommodating as possible.
Who obtains the building permits for my project?
Johnstone builders will pull the permits for the project. The party that pulls the permits is responsible for the safety of the structure and ensuring that it meets building standards.

We use only the highest quality, best-in-class products from leading industry suppliers. These companies have been around for decades (centuries in some cases) and their products have passed exacting industry and worldwide standards for quality, reliability and durability.

Who will be doing the work?
Johnstone Builders employees will be completing the majority of the project. From time to time we may hire a reputable subcontractor who will be overseen by one of our project managers.
If a problem appears after the job is done, will you come back to repair it?
Our goal at Johnstone Builders is to have 100 percent satisfaction from our clients. We will work with you to rectify any situations that arise after the job has been completed.
Can you show me proof of a license and insurance?
We certainly can and will upon request.
